Irish Traditional Music

Check out this lovely video of Mayo children playing Claudia’s Waltz – it’s absolutely stunning! A massive thank you to Tom Doherty for producing and arranging this so beautifully and to all the children from CCE Admiral Brown branch who were involved. You are all wonderful musicians. Thank you.  Pat Walsh

….the minute I heard it, it brought back memories of the spiritually lifting days of the 1970's and 1980's in Doolin when Micho Russell roamed his north Clare kingdom and life and music was rich in its simplicity………its a recording Micho would have been proud of and that says it all…..

***** FIVE STAR CHOICE! *****…all her little delights are absolutely golden, and it’s the way she maintains a steady timing while skipping and floating butterfly-style that really knocks me sideways and wins my heart.

…an unhurried pace enhanced by simple ornamentation …. style of playing recalls Micho Russell or Packie Byrne, nothing flash, just good music fondly delivered.

…If you like traditional Irish music this is most definitely an album you should add to your collection … as well as Pat’s excellent whistle playing the album features Mike McGoldrick, John Doyle and Kent’s own Tim Edey.

…lovely and beautifully recorded … her whistle playing is a real joy … decoration is always effective … her phrasing is impeccable … the way Pat plays is almost conversational … I enjoy all the tracks so much that I’m unable to name a favourite, but if there’s a sound I’d like to hear more of, it’s pat’s high whistle accompanied by either Mike’s low whistle or his C flute, Either way, it’s a marriage made in heaven!
